Full Moon in Aquarius | Saturday, August 9th at 12:56AM PT

"It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves." ~William Shakespeare

"Instead of drifting along like a leaf in a river, understand who you are and how you come across to people and what kind of an impact you have on the people around you and the community around you and the world, so that when you go out, you can feel you have made a positive difference."
~Jane Fonda

Full Moon in Aquarius | Saturday, August 9th at 12:56AM PT

"The Aquarius Full Moon brings powerful energy to expand our consciousness and elevate our vibration. This Full Moon takes place opposite the Sun in Leo, bringing greater attention to our uniqueness, genius, and willingness to evolve into our truth. Aquarius is ruled by the Air element. Like all air signs, Aquarius connects us. This energy is at the heart of every gathering, circle, or community. It helps us align with our inner truths and then find a sense of belonging with people who share those truths. Aquarius helps us understand when we're doing things to merely fit in versus when we're sharing our unique perspective no matter what others think of us. This Full Moon is a time to shed any habits and patterns that block our authentic expression and dim our light.

Aquarius, at its heart, represents the collective. This broad definition includes all the people in a given society, as well as their rules, guidelines, and structures. Aquarius guides our societal norms, along with our definitions of collective terminology, like success, power, and freedom. It also influences group dynamics, including how we treat one another, who leads the collective, and, even more importantly, who changes the rules that govern all of us."

Saturday's full moon "is in the rational, cool, emotionally detached, innovative, humanitarian and socially idealistic sign of Aquarius. The sun is in the opposite sign (what occurs at a full moon) of the Water Bearer, Leo.

Leo is warm, inspired, expressive and performative. Leo risks everything in order to be received by its audience. Aquarius understands itself and could not care less if you do too. It doesn’t have time for you to catch up with it. It can’t afford to curb its own intellect to suit the masses. Aquarius sees above and beyond the rest of the sheep. It arrives at the truth while others are still so caught in the lie they have no clue that there is even a fabrication at play.

Leo needs your adoration like it needs air and water. Meanwhile, Aquarius is uncomfortable with overt, explicitly personal displays of love because it’s too concerned with pouring forth water to the collective.

Leo and Aquarius are two sides of the same coin, a coin we all have in our change purse. Every sign is contained within us. The zodiac is a story of the unfolding of human consciousness. Every full moon is an opportunity to experience both sides of an equation. Month by month we live through the entire mythic journey. This moment in the journey is about the need for personal self-expression (Leo) and the need to serve the collective (Aquarius). It’s about allowing ourselves to burn bright with the fire of our personality and be detached enough to see what any given situation calls for. It’s not all about us but if we leave ourselves out completely we forgo the joy of being playfully present."

"Aquarius is an air sign – an element that lives within the mind. Yet the Moon is water, body, feeling, being. Aquarius is a collective sign – moving for the All, acting as an agent of change for humanity. The Moon is deeply personal, living within our hearts, our hidden waters.

This full Moon reminds us that we cannot be agents of change, we cannot hold or offer liberation for self or all – from the mind alone. To bring forth change we need to first come into the heart. To welcome a new future, we need to embody a new future. We need to remember what matters individually and uniquely to us, so that we may let that truth move through each action we take....

Under this lunation, come home to your heart. Clear the noise of everything but it. The noise of mind. The noise of every other human. Create a sacred sanctuary to tune in within, a space where it is only you. And – let this space heal you. Let it cleanse you. Let it birth you anew. Let it offer you future visions. Let it open portals of your forward direction. Let it connect your sight into the cosmos. Let it open your heart and reconnect your Mind with it.

Because the future is speaking under this lunation: your future, your dreams, your hopes and your visions. And our future, our dreams, our hopes and visions. For ourselves. For one another.

But it cannot reach us unless we come home to ourselves first. The future moves through each individual. It all begins here – with the immense power of the heart: a channel for love, for change, and for evolution."

"During Leo season, the Aquarius Full Moon challenges us to link our personal creativity to collective needs and discover how we can serve our community in a way that fulfills us and honors our authentic expression. This event offers us an opportunity to look at our experiences from a new, objective perspective and reminds us we are part of an ecosystem, which we are constantly impacting and being impacted by. The Aquarius Full Moon invites us to explore what happens when we become the observer of our emotional state instead of identifying with it and encourages us to make sure we are walking our own path, rather than the path somebody else designed for us."

Brain Dump Ritual for the Aquarius Full Moon

“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”
~Louis L'Amour

Step 1: Settle In

Find a comfortable space where you can feel free to express, be inspired, and come home to your wisdom. Perhaps light a candle, make a nourishing cup of tea, and have sacred objects nearby. Center yourself in an intention for this time.

For example: “Under this Aquarius Full Moon, I invite clarity, freedom, and new perspective. I allow myself to release old patterns and receive visionary insight."

Step 2: The Brain Dump

Use this time to be uninhibited, freely writing down all the ideas, thoughts, and emotions swirling in your mind. Use these prompts if you need a starting point:

  • What old patterns or inherited beliefs am I ready to break free from?
  • Where am I walking someone else’s path instead of my own?
  • How am I holding back my true voice or creative expression?
  • What systems, structures, or “rules” no longer feel aligned?
  • What causes, communities, or groups do I feel called to serve?
  • What innovative ideas or visions have been whispering to me?
  • What unique gifts do I want to share with the world?
  • How can I be both fully myself and deeply in service to others?

Let it all out. No need to organize or censor. Set a timer for 10–15 minutes if helpful, and just keep your pen moving. Even if all you can muster is "I don't know," keep going.

Step 3: Witness Without Attachment

When you’re done, read back through what you wrote — not as the critic or editor, but as the curious observer. Notice any recurring themes, surprising insights, or sparks of excitement. Circle or highlight anything that really resonates.

Step 5: Affirm

Close your ritual with this affirmation (or craft your own):

“I honor my unique perspective and trust my path. I free myself from outdated patterns and boldly share my gifts with the world. I am a vital part of the collective.”

Blow out your candle, breathe deeply, and give thanks for your mind, your magic, and the moon.

May this Aquarius Full Moon connect you to your sacred humanity ~
