The Empress is an archetype of the Mother. She creates and nurtures. She represents the abundance of Mother Earth. The Empress is capable of using Nature in a productive way and espouses art for art's sake. Her planet is Venus, and she embodies love of beauty and a strong value system.
In her is found the initial sensation. This is the first really physical experience of the world that The Fool has entered. The Empress has a rich understanding of the world based on her five senses. The Empress represents pregnancy, fertility, and prosperity. She indicates an act of creation and a sensual experience of beauty. The Empress is a nurturing force that wishes to see the product of her experiences reach the next stage of development.
The Empress symbolizes the law of preservation, she is the guardian of life standing before the earth, and she represents your charge to protect it and all that lives.
The Empress gives birth to new ideas, which flower into fields of fruitfulness.
3, the Empress's number, symbolizes synthesis of opposites, which gives birth to the third. The Emperor is the number 4. The sacred third is birthed through the union of these two. In this case the Empress and the Emperor give birth to holy innocence.
I write this on the eve of the Spring Equinox feeling the fullness of life within my womb belly; feeling pregnant with the divine fool child who is the symbol of innocence. The fool lives in wonder and awe and looks through the lens of curiosity. We are at a potent time as a planetary humanity bringing balance to the inner masculine and feminine that are being called to work in holy harmony bringing into manifestation new ways of being and creating a world that works for everyone.
The energy of the Empress is present at this Spring Equinox preparing us as we enter into the moon of April in which the collective celebrates Earth Day. A day where we come together and celebrate all the new ways we are creating sustainability, harmony, and beauty on this big blue green planet.
The Empress is the archetypal energy that is the creatrix and the protectress of new projects, she is the preserver. One who carries the egg, and creates the nest for all.
