Cultivating Your 2 Most Important Energy Cords by Lani Reagan

If you think energy cords are bad, you're only considering the types of negative cording that energy healers often advise cutting or disconnecting from. While I teach people how to cut their own cords as part of energetic hygiene for health maintenance and emotional clarity, I invite you to consider the 2 most important cords we have that need to be attended to and nourished.

Now, more than ever before, our individual and collective existence on planet earth is being put in jeopardy in ways most people were really not thinking about. Sure, I did have wonderings, since my healing practice began seeing illnesses requiring more than the usual time and degree of energy to channel in a session.

I've known that bacteria adapt to medicine and mutate to develop resistance; that stronger infections or forms of the flu were appearing on the scene. It passed my mind, more than once, "what are they going to do, if bacteria just start being immune to current medicines and if viruses also start getting out of control?".

But always, I pushed it away in favor of my understanding of the unseen forces of pranic energy moving through all things. I focused on, and still do, my own attunement to the energy of health and wellness, to supply my body with enough chi to accelerate healing.

But, admittedly, this COVD situation has intensified my attention to this important aspect of energetic healing to maintain a strong immune system and an inner mindset helping me choose life affirming thoughts instead of panic, or fear. Because I understand how important, but uncommon this knowledge might be, I share it with you now so you can potentially increase your chances of surviving and even thriving, in the current wave we are all undoubtedly going to ride. Here's where I advise you start.

Recognizing Your 2 Most Important Energy Cords

The two most important energetic cords that need our attention is the Spiritual Cord at the the crown of your head, and the Earth Cord running from your basic chakra into the ground. These two cords are often referred to in the hatha yoga practice (ha=sun & tha=moon), referring to the masculine/ha & feminine/tha energies required for all matter, including the human body. It's really speaking to the vibrational forces that must combine in a balanced way for the body to maintain strength, vigor and regenerative properties. In other words, good health.

If you are a practicing yogi you likely understand that these energies naturally move towards balance in the body as a result of a steady hatha yoga practice because the asanas or body positions create shifts designed to achieve energetic clarification & balance. However, if you do not practice yoga, there are still ways you can balance your energies and nourish your Spiritual Cord and Earth Cord through these simple suggestions.

Cultivating Your Energy Cords  with Breath, Sound, Mudras & Movements

Remember to breathe! It's the most basic way to move energy through your body, and the simplest, most impactful, in terms of amount of return on investment for the effort and time. As you read this you can be breathing. Go ahead and take 2-3 breaths, from your lower abdomen, while letting the upper chest relax.

Breathing is only the first part because while it moves energy and creates a force that pulls prana or life force, into our bodies, it's the other tools that speed up and intensify the rate of flow and the volume. Remember it's all about pace, volume & quantity. Rhythmic breathing amplifies both the pace and volume more than simply breathing does. I call it conscious breathing. Rhythmic conscious breathing means taking a timed inhalation and exhalation, that's coupled with a timed hold at the top and bottom. Using either a 7-1-7-1 count or a 6-3-6-3 count has both energizing and purifying effects. Inhale for the longer count and hold for the shorter count. Different rhythms have different impact. This rhythm has clarification properties, while also energizing your energy body, which energy is required, for your body to maintain and accelerate it's own natural and powerful healing abilities.

Sound or vibration stimulates & activates the chakras, causing the intake of pranic life force to increase, while expelling old energies. The Spiritual Cord anchored in the body, via the crown chakra, is stimulated by the vibration of sound in the musical note of F. The Earth Cord anchored in the body, via the basic or root chakra, is activated by sound in the musical note of G. The sounding of OM, in these notes, serves to activate and energize the chakras to allow more energy to enter into the body. Sounding OM or AMEN, or Ah- LO-HA, calls in the subtle frequencies from above and below, when you add mudras & movement.

Mudras and movements | Part 1: Asanas Since your body is an energy generator, there are energetic connections you can facilitate with your body, the way one might rewire an electrical device to accomplish an additional task. The postures used to make these connections are called "asanas", which translates into the word "seat", but refers to a defined seated pose that the body rests in most comfortably, while meditating. Today the word is used to describe any number of bodily poses, in the discipline of hatha yoga, that impact the flow of energy for different purposes. Standing poses have the effect of connecting us to the earth and activating the Earth Cord.

Mudras and movements | Part 2: Mudras Mudra means, "gesture", "mark" or "seal". The word "seal", I find, to be most accurate because these hand positions act to seal flows of energy off, in the effort to redirect energy towards parts of the body that might either need it more, or cause your frequency to create a different state of mind or beingness.

The specific mudra of connecting the tip of the thumb with the forefinger (Gyan mudra) activates the crown causing the spiritual cord to expand giving us the blissful experience of feeling connected at the Spiritual Cord; while pressing the tip of the thumb to the middle finger (Shuni mudra), while holding the hand downwards towards the ground, activates the basic chakra, thereby expanding the earth cord.

When it comes to movement of the energy, a few sets of surya namaskar, (sun salutes) if you practice yoga, is an ideal way of strengthening both cords (Spiritual & Earth Cords). But performing simple squats, while breathing, holding the mudra, reciting the following affirmations and sounding afterwards, moves the energy and strengthens and activates both cords.

With enlarged cords, more energy flowing upwards from the earth, and downwards from the ALL that IS, providing your body with more healing Life Force. It’s simple and easy, plus it just takes a few minutes a day. I leave you with this practice.

Simple exercises

While holding the Gyan mudra and doing small squats (bending at knees, up and down, for 25-50reps), affirm the following:

"I Am That I Am. I Am not the BODY, THOUGHTS or EMOTIONS. I AM a spiritual being of divine intelligence, divine love and divine power. I am not even the mind. The mind is just and instrument of the Soul. I AM THE SOUL Always one and connected with my Divine Spark within me. I AM THAT I AM."

Sound 4-7 OM"s to conclude.

While holding the Shuni mudra and doing easy squats, affirm the following:

"It is in giving that we receive. As I sow abundantly, I reap abundantly. This is the Divine Law. As I share and give generously & abundantly, money flows to me easily & constantly & in great abundance. Whatever I invest comes back to me many many times. I am blessed with so much abundance & prosperity and I live a moderate life, of discipline & spirituality. May every person & every being be blessed with prosperity, abundance, joy & spirituality. SO BE IT!"

Conclude with 4-7 OM's. All my best is your quest for deeper connection, a strong vital physical body and an emotionally fulfilling life!
