Five Keys to Prospering by Lani Reagan

Sub-conscious negative programs make it challenging to apply the keys to prosperity. But reading this and attenuating the Self to it, can cause shifts with potentially huge benefits. Make a game of experimenting and see what happens. Enjoy and have fun!

  1. It is in giving that we receive. A harvest is naught without seed. Sowing seeds of generosity in areas of life we’d like to reap a greater harvest is necessary. If we desire more money, we must tithe and give and share. Fear of giving; a poor attitude about paying bills; with-holding from paying our debts, etc., only keeps more money from flowing in. If we desire more friends, we must be friendly and genuine, caring and warm. The Universe isn’t mistaken when we experience less positive outcomes as a harvest of the actions we have sown. To live a more prosperous life develop a compassionate heart that is willing to serve, give and forgive. Do you feel resistance when being asked to give, donate or go out of your way for someone else? Do you spend more time thinking about your problems instead of how to help others with theirs? Are you tight with your money for fear more will not flow in? If that was inverted (from tightness to open-ness) the tide of flow would return back to you instead of moving money away from you. Certain areas of giving (to fulfill our karmic obligations) will render a better return.

  1. Hands of a businessman reaching to towards key success, business concept[/caption]Good will is not the same as the will to do good. Having enough will to act and follow through is critical to prospering in any area. Ideas are a dime a dozen, so goes the saying, and actions speak louder than words, in deed. Make sure the words that come out of the mouth can be followed up by action, else procrastination shall weaken your energy field and lessen the impact of your intentions. What percentage of the time do you tend to follow through and keep your word? Do you over-commit out of a kind heart but then fail to do what you say? How seriously do you take your commitments? If you knew you would lose $10 for every commitment you break, every word spoken that you fail to live up to, even casually, how much would you be losing daily? How much more would you take seriously you words and make sure to follow up. The cliche, indicating the wealth of a man who keeps his word; “my word is gold” sums up this principle. There are energetic techniques to disintegrate tendencies to procrastinate.
  2. Be willing to receive. Receiving is the other side of the coin of Giving. You cannot keep exhaling and expect to survive. You must inhale and receive in order to keep a flow of life force moving through your body. Asceticism has it’s place in the karmic order of things, but most of us aren't bound by the laws of a renunciate. However even in those cases, living in a prosperous state by those standards, still requires the ability to receive that which is the minimal amount needed to survive. Receiving doesn’t only mean receiving money, or charity, but having an open attitude to receiving direction, guidance and education. It also means being able to receive recognition, love, attention, and acknowledgment. It covers both material and non-material things. How open are you to receiving? Do you find more pleasure in the recognition that comes from giving or donating? Do you say “thank you” in response to a compliment or do you disqualify yourself, by minimizing your accomplishment? Are you able to look in the mirror and say the words “I love you”? If you can do this you are practicing receiving the most valuable thing from the most Important Aspect of your Self. Practice of that regularly, pumps the flow of giving and receiving to greater momentum.
  3. Rejoice in the success of others. What what you want for yourself, more for others, than you do for yourself. The energies of jealousy and envy, diminish the spirit of good will and the will to do good within you. Jealously and envy are backed by very thick layers of judgments and fear, which are the opposite of love and abundance. They are poison to a truth seeker, though they may very well have been a form of protection for the psyche and have served a purpose in the past, they do not have to hold sway forever. What judgements do you have around people who are wealthy? Do you find yourself being critical or sour when others are doing well? It is easy to be blind to our own judgments, but if we actively practice to be happy for the success of others, we can stimulate the flow of prosperity into our lives by virtue of free will. There is a meditation that can purify the consciousness from judgements, jealousies and envy.
  4. Practice gratitude intensely. Most of our worries and complaints are first world problems and at any point in the game of life, no matter if we are at a high point or a low point, there is always a huge list of things we can be thankful for. Practicing gratitude intensely means that we are feeling it and not just listing things we are thankful for, by rote. We may need to start out writing a list like a middle school homework assignment, but practicing gratitude intensely means that eventually we feel it so deeply and so widely that it changes our perspective and creates a different state of mind and therefore a different state of being-ness. We can start out writing our lists or we can hold the pattern of gratitude foremost in our minds, where it will light our path and make us open to opportunities and connections.
