I am the Wise Woman of the Wyrd and some might call me mad. And others might see me as a Wisdom Keeper. It all depends on what lens you to choose to view the world. If you are looking through the lens of the ego mind, you will say I am old and crazy and put out to pasture like the old gray mare. "She ain't what she used to be", which from my point of view is a very good thing. For when I was in what some see as my prime, I would try to fit into the culturally correct form, that looked pretty, that appeared to have it all together, ship shape. Now I am a shape shifter that realizes that I can play any part I want and no longer care what anyone thinks.
Freedom at last from the madness of the mind that believes it has to stay in time in order to fit in. Now I no longer feel the need to fit in or even desire to fit in, for what do we desire to fit into but a mind made construct that limits us from the creative illumination of the heart knowing.
Heart Knowing is the way. "Wisdom can not be taught, sought, bought, or thought. Wisdom is not what you think at any given moment. It pours into the empty container that attracts it with it's openness, it's willingness, not to know the clarity of the ravenous for real".

Now make some funny faces in the mirror, squint, crinkle and see all the wrinkles, now hold them, squeeze them and then let them go, and feel the freedom flow. Yes, I am the Wise Woman of the Wyrd, now that I have officially turned 60. Even though this wisdom is not about age, it is the wisdom of agelessness heart, the heart that knows what is real. No longer buying into what the world tells me is true; it now knows to listen to the wisdom of my heart, where true Gnosis lies.

I will leave you with this quote from the wise children's book, The Velveteen Rabbit, which speaks eloquently about the connection between becoming "real" and beauty. This encounter takes place in a children's nursery, in a conversation between a rocking horse (skin horse) and a stuffed rabbit.
"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse, "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become real."
"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are real, you don't mind being hurt."
"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You Become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are real, most of your hair has been rubbed off, your eyes have dropped out, and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are real, you cannot be ugly, except to people who don't understand."
Perhaps we are each our own children and the rabbits we learn to love for a long, long time are our Selves. And then we begin to see that there is so much beauty on the interior, the exterior no longer matters.
To me this is real wisdom as the Skin Horse said, "Once you are real, you cannot be ugly, except to people who don't understand." When we look deeply into the eyes we see the inner beauty, the luminous light that shines so bright. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
