It urges us to excel and to exceed boundaries, to reject any and all limitations. “With the void, full powers” is the statement offered by Camus regarding an exhibit of the artist Yves Klein in 1958 later called “Le Vide” (the void).It was Klein’s attempt to give people an experience of something that could not be put into words or depicted in form. It was Klein’s “vision of a life liberated from the strictures of time and space.” In a Parisian gallery Klein painted an empty room iridescent white and invited people to partake.As one gains freedom through the inexorable influence of Uranus, structures and limitations having been challenged and diminished, one is ready to dive beneath the surface and confront our deepest fears and truth. Welcome to the mysterious and indefinable realm of Neptune!

Neptune, ruler of Pisces, in its silence, vastness, boundlessness offers everything, all possibility and offers nothing. How can the void give anything? But in the void the creative aspect of human being can flourish. Here there is ‘space’ to allow the manifestation of whatever one can imagine. There is no voice that doubts. In nothingness we cannot compare to anything, so the artist is free to place upon his canvas whatever unfolds from within.
An Art of Infinite Emptiness
As people walked through Klein’s creation of nothing they no doubt experienced their minds in overdrive looking for some way to define what this experience was...the beauty would be that they came to the conclusion that one cannot define nothing. It is. For some that room was a moment to be without definition.Klein was very much influenced by Neptune in his natal chart as one would expect. He sought to express the nature of Truth in physical reality--'spirit' in the material world. With a Moon/Neptune conjunction trine to a Venus/Jupiter conjunction he was capable of conjuring from the infinite and unfathomable depths of instinctual sensation; feeling, paramount over thinking.And with Mars in Pisces the sign that Neptune rules, Klein from an early age questioned the nature of reality. Mars in Pisces is said to be ‘impractical for everyday reality.’ Not Klein’s arena.
He became famous for a blue he mixed and proceeded to fill large canvasses with...sea and sky, one, no separation. Klein was also a composer. One composition for which he became famous was one note extended over twenty minutes.He himself left the confines of physical reality at the young age of 34 through heart attack. His fearless explorations into uncharted territories derived from a knowing that physical reality is an expression of the indefinable absolute may have been as much as he needed to express here; ready therefore, to himself, leave form and function and to escape the limitations of this plane.Escape is a desire for some who are influenced by Neptune. They seek refuge in drugs, alcohol, sex and evade the world of responsibility, rules and regulations. More so they neglect to attend to the area to which Neptune summons all of us and that is the spiritual.At our core (heart) is truth but many fear to open the door to discover what lies deeper within because...there are many reasons...all based on the past but none the less active or easily activated through moments of remembering. We wander in greater fear therefore and without clarity when we carry about and give attention to our memories.

These are the domains of Neptune, dreaming and awakening. Uranus awakens us to the light and Neptune awakens us to the darkness, the void and shows us that there, there is nothing to fear.We awaken to the knowing that there is nothing to which we can cling in physical reality as all will cease to exist at some point.We are aware of the eternal, infinite nature of Reality. All else is an illusion. Though Neptune is touted as the planet of Mist, and also confusion, when the mists part there is Truth.
In Truth, no fear.

There is a fierceness inherent in Neptune, for when we are faced with the void and are unable to escape the inescapable we find our selves terrified by the implications and yet will find the power to over come that terror through acceptance—the lesson that Christ shared. Faith in the divine. And the nature of all things. No separation.
A Neptune Meditation
Close your eyes. Be aware of the rhythmic flow of breath as it enters and leaves in and out of your body. It is not about thinking, the Neptune experience. It is about being with the stillness of the deepest oceanic immersion.Allow the eternal now to permeate every cell of your being. Nothing to ‘do’ therefore. Let go and be. As form dissolves and the notion of separation is an indistinct voice growing silent, the all pervasive hum of Universal essence is realized as ALL that is, YOU come to rest in emptiness from which you were never born and never depart.Wherever Neptune resides in your natal chart shows where you challenge the concepts of reality and seek the realms of the indefinable. If Neptunian energy is predominant in your chart you may appear to be a mystery to others who struggle to comprehend these depths that you swim in. And when you offer solutions to long established ‘problems’ these others may be perplexed as to how you arrived at your conclusions. Difficult to relate you say, as there is no way of describing that from which your knowing springs.
Tarot Connection
In the Tarot, one of my favorite cards, is the 7 of Cups as it presents a challenge and a great gift at the same time. It is in a sense a test to which the number 7 is inclined. It represents the attainment of one’s greatest desire that may not be had through dreaming or illusion but by knowing what truly lies within one’s heart as the ultimate goal. It is the human being overcoming emotional insecurity ready to embrace life unconditionally. There is emotional maturity that occurs here that allows for ‘so much more’. Neptune is so much more.
