Fall is here and the heavens in beautiful Santa Barbara opened, if even only a tiny bit, nurturing our lush surroundings with much needed rain. Grateful for every little sprinkle we get, I contemplated over the fact that fall truly has set the path for the next few weeks to come. Many forests turn their leaves into a mesmerizing spectacle of colors during this season, as if to celebrate the wonder and beauty within and then shed their leaves to lighten their load and prepare for what lies ahead.

Autumn Storm by Karen Parker[/caption]
I like the thought of embracing and mirroring the trees and encourage all of you, dear readers, along with your friends, relatives, co-workers to have one last hooray to celebrate all that is wonderful about you, your accomplishments, the memorable times you had this summer and the goals you have achieved.
Pat yourself on the shoulder. You may have achieved much more than you set out to, may be even a bit less, but when taken into consideration, you may have gained in other areas a such as knowledge, insight, friendship, life lessons etc. If you don't feel like orchestrating a party and would rather be by yourself, go for a pampering day; indulging in a visit to the spa, eating great food, buying a new dress, a great book, a day trip, whatever this means to you is perfect.
Once you have completed the celebration, look at what it is you can shed in your life. This may literally be pounds, it may be a storage space filled with things you no longer need, let alone think about, clothes you never wear, or possibly even guilt or an issue you are dealing with--a spiritual or emotional weight on your shoulders as it were. No matter if it is a physical manifestation that can be shed or a spiritual, mental or emotional one, it takes strength and determination to do so.
We are all unique and how you approach your fall shedding is up to you, with the help of your goals, your personal counselor, or your spiritual coach. There are no perfect things to do and not to do. If you would like more guidance, further insight into your Self, and your habits and patterns, or are simply ready to start the process and need a guiding hand to help facilitate your success at your pace and guide you along the way, please come see me at Paradise!
Happy Fall Shedding!
