“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” ~Dolly Parton
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars). Reach out to me for personal explorations of these times.
June, well, well, well. It is a relatively relaxed month, but only because of relativity. The beginning focuses on finishing up the revolution of consciousness that has been ongoing since early March. So, more pruning of the neuronal trees. Then mid-month it all starts to shift towards what we could call boring, but in a good way; our home, our bodies, our people, our food, our endless maintenance routines, and so on. The tales as old as time that usually go untold while constituting so much of life. The latter part of the month starts veering us into existential crisis mode about the world while still pushing us to foster our personal domains. Let us find more peace, more healthfulness, and feel the love of our companions on this journey.
Venus sextiles Jupiter on Wednesday 6/4 at 7:31 pm Pacific. This opens the door for more catching up with friends and loved ones. Reach out and plan a catch-up session and take note of how you may have changed in recent times. There is still a focus on self-love, and hopefully that will be reflected in our circles of people.
Mercury sextiles Mars on Thursday 6/5 at 3:09 pm Pacific. This will find us all on the feisty side of things. It’s best cultivated for humor and lightening the general mood. However, there will be temptation to be extra spicy, so choose your audience wisely for that. It would also be great for going on a vigorous neighborhood walk and or some other way of getting the heart pumping.
Venus enters Taurus on Thursday 6/5 at 9:43 pm Pacific, until 7/4. This brings the focus back to the practical and functional areas of life. The big push towards self-appreciation comes to closure, of a sort. But really this is about grounding these self-valuation developments firmly in our physical beings. Give thanks for all our bodies do for us and avoid unnecessary insecurities. Enjoy the comforts of existence wherever they may be found.
Mercury conjoins Jupiter on Sunday 6/8 at 1:11 pm Pacific, getting the thoughts flowing all over the place. This is a review period for the last three months of mental and understanding developments. The focus is on boiling all the disparate thoughts down to the essentials. And there is still a push to let go of outdated thought and communication patterns. It’s basically an exercise in un-learning. Think it though and talk it out, but stay flexible towards trimming the excess from the mind.
Mercury enters Cancer on Sunday 6/8 at 3:58 pm Pacific, until 6/26, shifting the mental emphasis towards our emotional sensibilities. It’s really an intuitive and emotional check-in on all our recent mental gymnastics. How we feel about things after taking a mental pause is very informative. So, pay attention to how things sit on the inside and make adjustments where necessary.
Mercury squares Saturn on Monday 6/9 at 3:48 am Pacific. This reminds us forcefully that we need to attend to the daily and longer-term responsibilities of life. There has been a lot of philosophizing and meandering ideas, but reality always needs our attention. The trick is to not get discouraged by thinking about how much remains to be done, but staying steady and determined to overcome each task as it comes.
Venus squares Pluto on Monday 6/9 at 10:20 am Pacific, frothing up some underlayer issues for us to confront. This is where recent efforts towards greater self-care and self-appreciation get challenged by feeling exposed and vulnerable amongst our communities. People are generally distracted by their own goings-on and not always ready to affirm where we are. So, we are best served by continuing to give ourselves all the affirmations we deserve while appreciating any reflections that come our way.
Jupiter enters Cancer on Monday 6/9 at 2:02 pm Pacific, until 6/29/26. Another big transition that will take a lot of our focus away from the tumult of the mental sphere and into the watery world of emotions, bodies, family, and home. It could mean expanding our inner circles, but even if not, the close ties we have will have much greater emphasis. This is about maintaining our bubble, our life’s sanctuaries, which first and foremost is our bodies and all the self-care that being alive entails. The simple things are what keep us going; good food, good sleep, good people, and love.
Mercury squares Neptune on Monday 6/9 at 3:54 pm Pacific, urging us towards more release of outdated mental patterns. This could mean releasing idealistic fantasies, or, on the other side, could mean letting go of persistent disillusionment. Reality rarely, if ever, adheres to our perceptual extremes, so let us try to meet it in the middle. And be wary of rash decisions or flippant communication.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius is on Wednesday 6/11 at 12:43 am Pacific. This is a rather mellow lunation, aside from the fact that it’s in Sagittarius. It will have us itching for some new vistas, new adventures, story-making excursions, and interesting people. However, the odds are that we are still playing catch-up with life’s perpetual unfolding and working to figure out what we are doing with ourselves. As per usual, the answers we are looking for won’t show up when we search directly. We have to leave space to receive the wisdom from within.
Mercury sextiles Venus on Wednesday 6/11 at 12:40 pm Pacific. This would be another great opportunity to connect with friends and loved ones over a home-cooked meal, or to just reconnect through a phone call, or whatever else. The key is to feel loved, accepted, and appreciated by those for whom we feel the same. We need these moments to quell the sense of isolation and to feel like a part of a greater whole.
Mars squares Uranus on Sunday 6/15 at 2:46 am Pacific, shooting some wild sparks hither and thither. People will surely have very low tolerance and be a little overly ready to blast those who distract or impinge on our self-expression and developmental journey. The safest expression of this would be to do some vigorous exercise to release any pressures. Have fun, carefully.
Jupiter squares Saturn on Sunday 6/15 at 7:35 am Pacific. This combination is always complicated and never easily characterized because we’ll all be spread far and wide with it. At its base is the struggle between trust in life and the world working itself out for the best versus doubts and fears about how badly things could go. Of course, reality usually lies somewhere in the middle, but that doesn’t negate the ease with which we swing from side to side on this topic. The simplest method is always to stay grounded in the reality of existence with a persistent openness to whatever good may come of it all. Honor the unfurling.
Mars enters Virgo on Tuesday 6/17 at 1:36 am Pacific, until 8/6, bringing quite a change of pace. This calms down the revolution of self that was going on since October of ’24 and asks that we start weaving whatever new habits and practices into regular practice. Put simply, it’s about healthfulness in all its forms. So let us avoid stress, feed our bodies well, stick to reliable routines, and generally take care of our bodies. This also supports cleaning the deadwood from wherever we may find it in our homes.
Jupiter squares Neptune on Wednesday 6/18 at 8:15 pm Pacific, infusing some profound dreaminess, or maybe confusion. This may find us positively yearning for rest, respite, relief, escape, and more. Basically, we could easily be dreaming of a totally different reality from the one we inhabit. However, it is what it is and it would be best if we relinquish our over-blown expectations and craft the fantasy world within, where it has a much stronger chance of becoming something sustainable. Be your own safe space.
The Sun enters Cancer on Friday 6/20 at 7:42 pm Pacific. This brings more emphasis to home and hearth, our bodies, families, and emotional beings. But there is an extra push towards appreciating every little thing that brings grace into our lives, be it pets, people, a garden, a special tree, or simply the comfort of our beds. Life is too short to spend our time worrying about things beyond our sphere of control. So, cherish what is dear to you.
Mars sextiles Jupiter on Sunday 6/22 at 3:31 am Pacific. Ideally, we could use this to light, maintain, or grow the fires of motivation to take care of our bodies, our people, and our spaces. It’s a nesting urge writ large, so try that new recipe and then share it with those you love. It’s always the basic simplicities that sustain us.
Sun squares Saturn on Sunday 6/22 at 11:35 am and squares Neptune on Monday 6/23 at 1:28 am Pacific. This is complicated because Saturn and Neptune are very different forces that are going to be acting as a unit for a while. This is about how we struggle with the dynamic of doubt-ridden disillusionment about the world and how we are supposed to deal with it. The challenge is to determinedly work towards building our lives and worlds in a way that reflects our higher ideals and aligns with our moral compasses. It’s easy to want to give up, but so much more impressive to be the change that we want to see in the world.
Sun conjoins Jupiter on Tuesday 6/24 at 8:16 am Pacific. This is about consolidating our existential faith in ourselves and the world at large. Life is a lot, and we can get a little lost in the turmoil, especially with the onslaught of modern media. So, now is our chance to affirm the basic necessities that even our ancient ancestors cherished. Life is always about what nourishes and nurtures us along this life path. Let’s stick to that.
The New Moon in Cancer is on Wednesday 6/25 at 3:31 am Pacific. This is another relatively peaceful lunation, if we have been surfing all those astrological waves. It’s a chance to restart our systems and hopefully disappear some of the worry, fear, and hopelessness programs running in the background. Life is partially what we make of it, and we should always be striving to make our personal worlds into sanctuaries for our best selves. It’s easy to get distracted, but wise to keep our focus on bettering the world.
Mercury sextiles Uranus on Thursday 6/26 at 2:44 am Pacific. This combination will stir our rebellious natures and give us the urge to purge. It’s another chance to cleanse the mind of what no longer serves us. In particular, this means letting go of former visions of our futures and more thoroughly centering ourselves in the present moment. Life is not how we imagined, and it mostly won’t be in the future. So, maintain neuroplasticity and stay flexible to the changing tides.
Sun sextiles Mars on Thursday 6/26 at 7:11 am Pacific, bringing more focus towards our physical well-being. It’s more energy towards the basics of being; taking care of the body, the home, the food, the cleaning, and all of those eternal upkeep issues. As per usual, it’s far easier in the long-run to try to stay on top of all the little things that can become daunting projects if left by the wayside. Find peace in the mundane.
Mercury enters Leo on Thursday 6/26 at 12:09 pm Pacific, until 9/2. This period wants us to really put ourselves out there and express our most whole selves despite the lingering vulnerabilities and tenderness. Basically, we need to have some fun; play, flirt, dance, create, imagine, and make jokes about this whacky life. It’s going to be a whole process because Mercury is only spending so long here because of a retrograde tossed in there. So, there will be a whole story that unfolds.
Mercury trines Saturn on Friday 6/27 at 8:52 pm and trines Neptune on Saturday 6/28 at 4:57 am Pacific. This asks us how we can best mentally navigate all the various possibilities through our mind’s eye. So much that concerns the mind never actually happens, or does, but is too far beyond our control to concern us. And yet, the mind readily weaves its own tale and we chase our own tail. Maybe the trick here is to draw boundaries between our happiness and the world at large.
Mercury opposes Pluto on Sunday 6/29 at 12:57 am Pacific, dredging more mental patterns up for review. Put simply, the mind gets stuck in ruts; patterns of repetition that may have served our survival at some point, but are not constructive at this point. This is a forceful push to get out of those ruts by firmly and consistently self-editing our inner narrator. It’s a grueling practice, but much better than the other options.
So, June. Hopefully we all go with this flow and steer our ships closer to our ports. Yet, distractions and temptations are still replete; the side-quests can always lure us into an unnecessary grind. So, let us all take care of the tried, the true, the basic, and the beautiful.
