*Create a winter altar using natural materials you find outside, with candles to illuminate and add warmth to the shortest days of the year. Leaves, seeds, berries, stones...You may be inspired by the ancient tradition of bringing the outdoors inside for Winter Solstice and Yule celebrations--use branches of evergreens to symbolize continuation of life and renewal; spiky leaves and bright red berries of the holly bush for protection; vines of ivy to represent the bonds of family and friendship, and mistletoe for love and peace.

*Journal, to illuminate the soul…In the dark of winter, seeds of new growth lie just beneath the surface, gathering energy to burst forth in spring. Write freely and see what emerges.
