Sacred adornments and tools for intentional living, malas have been used for centuries traditionally to count mantras (prayers) during meditation practices. Rudrakshas are the oldest known prayer beads, having been worn since at least 1000B.C. These seeds are regarded as the timeless jewels of the gods, being the most powerful aid in the path of Self-realization.

It is believed that Rudraksha beads grow on trees that have emanated from the tears of Lord Shiva, and used for centuries in Hinduism and Buddhism for Self-empowerment and to live a fearless life. Rudrakshas are also believed to protect the wearer from negative energy and guide them to follow their karmic pattern. Aum Rudraksha seeds are organic, and locally grown in sustainable plantations in Indonesia.

How to use: Start with holding the "Guru bead," the large tasseled bead at the end of the mala. With every breath, or repetition of a mantra, move on to the next bead until you end up at the Guru bead again, then switch directions and go back.

Inspired by spirituality, guided by Papaji (H.W.K. Poonjaji) and created by Soma Temple, Aum Rudraksha Designs was born in 2003 on the magical island of Bali, Indonesia. Here is their message:
