Yes + No Practice: Aries Full Moon Ritual
"I imagine that yes is the only living thing.”
~E.E. Cummings
This practice pairs especially well with Aries energy as it emphasizes decisive action, clarity of will, and the courage to honor your gifts.
What You’ll Need
- Two sheets of paper (one for YES, one for NO)
- A pen or marker
- A candle
- A fireproof bowl (if burning) or a safe spot outdoors (if burying)
Step 1: Create Sacred Space
- Light your candle and take a few grounding breaths.
- Say a simple invocation:
“Under this Aries Full Moon, I claim the courage to honor my path. May my YES be clear, my NO be strong, and my gifts shine brightly.”
Step 2: Somatic Connection
- Find a connection in your body to your YES and your NO.
- To do this, close your eyes and think of the things that bring a YES to your soul. Notice how your body feels, if it leans one direction, if any sensations, textures, colors, sounds, smells or visuals that arise. Then, do the same for your NO. Write your lists from this internal knowing.
Step 3: Write Your YES List
- On the first sheet, write down all the actions, habits, and opportunities that feel aligned with your life purpose and authentic self.
- Think about your gifts, strengths, and what makes you feel most alive.
- Examples:
- Saying YES to starting a project that excites me
- Saying YES to using my gift for storytelling to inspire others
- Saying YES to carving out time for creativity each week
Step 4: Write Your NO List
- On the second sheet, write down all the habits, obligations, and thought patterns that drain your energy, distract from your path, or diminish your gifts.
- Examples:
- Saying NO to overcommitting out of guilt
- Saying NO to self-doubt that stops me from sharing my voice
- Saying NO to routines that keep me small instead of expansive
Step 5: Speak Them Aloud
- Hold each sheet of paper in your hands.
- Speak your YES list aloud with conviction, letting each statement fill your body with fiery Aries energy.
- Speak your NO list aloud with equal strength, reclaiming your boundaries.
Step 6: Release & Claim
- Place your NO list into the fireproof bowl and safely burn it (or bury it in the earth).
- As it transforms, say: “I release all that is not aligned with my path.”
- Keep your YES list. Place it on your altar, under your pillow, or somewhere visible.
- Say: “These are the actions and gifts I devote myself to. I move forward with courage and clarity.”
Step 7: Close the Ritual
- Place your hand on your heart and say:
“My YES is sacred, my NO is sacred. With this balance, I step fully into my purpose.” - Blow out the candle, sealing the ritual.
May this Aries New Moon remind you of your warrior spirit ~
