You know, where feelings of loneliness, rejection or just plain feeling “out of flow” or “out of it” color your day?Of course the opposite of experiencing a disconnect, is to feel connected; having a sense that all things are as they are meant to be, regardless of what might be going on around us; feeling safe and included, valued and esteemed. But what does it mean to ‘energetically connect’? How can it help you to recover from experiencing a disconnect, so that it’s shorter and less intense? In order to understand what an energetic connection is we’ll have to talk a little bit about the energetic anatomy. Because your body needs chi/prana/life force for your cells to function properly and heal as they are programmed to, there is a process to how this all happens.I must mention that where there are processes occuring, there is inherently a technology underscoring it all. When we understand the technology and processes governing energy as it moves through the human body and the Universe, we become better equipped to use it to align ourselves with the feeling of connectedness we seek, plus so much more.

Connections and Cords

While we may feel connected to a cause, a culture, our families, or groups of people; this is not the type of connection I’m referring to. We do indeed have energetic connections to those in our lives and even to those we consider enemies. These connections are energetically established and are seen clairvoyantly as “cords” or extensions of light, extending out from your chakra or chakras (chakras=energetic spheres that take in clean life force and expel used up prana or chi) going to those you are connected with.We also are energetically connected to things we hold of value and even to thoughtforms we may not be conscious of holding. Sometimes, we energetically connect to others in order to feel the sense of security and contentment, that only comes from a specific energetic cord, only to become disappointed. So which energy center has the cord that best helps us to experience true connection?

Your Primary Source of Connection

The primary source of connection that allows us to transcend the feelings of disconnect, in the most impactful and energetically healing way, is the connection we foster at the crown chakra as it extends upward to the Higher Soul part of your “Self”.That part of you (your Soul energy) is ever in a state of peace and abiding love. To develop your energetic connection with the more expansive part of your Self is a matter of regular practice. However, since I shared this is based on a technology, you do not really have to feel energy, be an energy healer or master, to use the techniques I’m about to disclose. You likely cannot explain how your phone works exactly, still you press the ‘on-switch’ and it works and does the job. So it is with your energetic ‘On- switch’. Just like with your phone there may be many ways to complete a particular task, there are a few ways to simply connect with your Higher Self/Soul Energy that are convenient and easy. There are also, more advanced ways that take a bit more time and focus, but are well worth the effort. Give these easy energetic tools a try and see if they don’t help you to feel a bit more connected, to your Self and then to the world at large.

Your Spiritual Cord

The cord that extends from your crown upwards to the essence of your Higher Soul is often referred to as your Spiritual Cord. It acts as a bridge of sorts by which soul essence and information can flow to your conscious awareness and from your physical form .This part of the energetic anatomy is developed to various degrees in different people. The larger and wider this cord or bridge, the more access you have to more of the divine essence, or energy that Is The Real You.When this spiritual cord is stimulated and activated through focused intention, mudra and mantra, the feeling of peace, security and connection follows in short order. The Real You is not simply your body, but is the energy with consciousness that moves the body and keeps your heart beating. It is also the part of you that is in knowingness of It’s value and worth and experiences Itself as love, loved and loving. There’s a lot more to learn about the spiritual cord and it’s evolution, but below are two energetic exercises you can do to increase your sense of connectedness and thus develop the strength and size of your spiritual cord.

Prayer-hands Mudra

When you combine it with focused attention at the crown while closing your eyes and practicing slow rhythmic breathing, you move the energy from your body, up into the crown and from the Higher Soul, down into the body.An alchemical process happens that impacts your nervous system, which manifests as a sense of slowing down and getting still internally; a sense of inner peace and a feeling of connectedness.

Mantra

Besides being a word or phrase that set the tone for an intention, mantra is the science of sound and how its impacts physical and etheric matter. The practice of it in the traditional sounding sense actually causes a host of various energetic shifts in the chakral system and therefore in your body and consciousness. The buddhist mantra “so ham” means “I Am That I Am” or 'the real me is That Energy with Consciousness'. Chanting this mantra while doing all the former suggestions, can deepen your connection and help to keep the crown more activated and thus the spiritual cord wider. This results in a deeper feeling of connectedness that can be more penetrating. You’ll want to inhale through the nose while sounding “so” in your mind; then exhale through the mouth softly, “ham”, in a whisper. 5 repetitions should be enough to help you feel more connected, even in the face of external stress. The breathing combined with the sounding, causes the solar plexus to expel stress energy and leaves the body feeling lighter and the mind more clear and the emotions more connected. Make sure to accompany the practice with a sense of reverence and gratitude to maximize the effects.

When to Practice

This tool is great to use just before you enter into a social situation that might be a source of nervousness. It’s also an easy time-out activity, if you are in motion and begin feeling a bit disconnected. No reason not to sit in your car or duck into a bathroom or quiet hallway to practice and reground yourself. Either way, I hope you’ll spend more time feeling connected and practicing to exercise your natural right to feel love, loved and loving.
