Elements of Tarot~Fire by Kristine Marie

...Love is as strong as death. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away…

~Song of Solomon

So here we are at the fourth element of the tarot, Fire, which is represented by Wands, and represents action and movement. Wands in the sun and moon tarot deck, which works with me, are represented by sticks, staffs, torches and wands, and there is often an element of fire somewhere in the wand cards. This is the fire of life, the spark and the catalyst, and has an element of spirit as well. The Ace of Wands is indicative of the beginning of a new project, it’s also indicative of spiritual enlightenment, I often see it as the indication of a new spiritual journey, an awakening. Fire burns away obstacles and lights the way, it catalyzes us into action, or could be the action we are in process of.

...How can we go down when were bathing in the sound Of the great souls come tenfold Fire on the tongue as we’re drinking from the sun It ain’t no evil, I’ve been told Words are the arrow, song is the bow Rhythm is the hunter and it shoots for my soul...

~Trevor Hall, Under Pressure

And as we enter December, in the sign of Sagittarius, and head towards the deepest dark of winter (December 21), we are asked to tend our fire, to take the light into our heart, as we move through that seasonal, elemental, darkness. With the light in our hearts, we have the courage to take that journey into darkness, for we carry the light within us.With Jupiter in Scorpio, I have been feeling myself going through the fire in a myriad of ways. It feels as if deep wounds are being dug up out of the past and in the process there is a powerful cleansing and healing occurring. Jupiter is a planet of action and expansion and it is activation Scorpio, the sign of sex and death and transformation from the depths, so we are all being activated in our deepest shadows...the torch is being held to enlighten us. Personally I’ve had profound revelations regarding my own core wounds that have been activated by current relationships and circumstances and the enlightenment has been accompanied by what feels like actual movement away from old patterns caused by childhood wounds, into the capacity to move forward with love.

Light Up The Fire

...How much burning, burning will you feel,Be friendly with the fire, enough for me.Light up the fire of love inside,And blaze the thoughts away.

~Rumi

And the integration of not only doing my emotional work but also putting it into action in my relationships feels so freeing, it's as if something that has long held me in its grip no longer has a hold and I am freeing myself. This latest powerful movement of women shining a spotlight on sexual harassment in the film business as well as in politics is a phenomenal case in point. It's amazing how many stories are coming out! Of course, it took the right climate, yes, and the right balance of power and safety for women to step forward...and yet the utter explosion of women coming forward to expose the wrongs is almost overwhelming. For Harvey Weinstein alone, the number of women affected is ASTOUNDING. And so many of them were so quiet for so long, had been told to keep it secret, even paid (and bullied) to do so, and hiding in the dark before that first New Yorker article lit the torch and woman after woman after woman is coming out, and there is even more to come. And many of these women are even breaking confidentiality agreements they made, or felt forced to make at the time, all saying that they must speak out so that this will stop....Last night I saw a blazing stallion Running through the fields of Babylon His dark mane on fire Singing of a spiritual empire

Last night I saw a blazing stallion Coming with a full battalion His black mouth spit flames Burning up all evil away...

https://youtu.be/VTEpVcYeoN8The princess of wands, in this deck, is dancing in a fire with her tiger; I like to say she is taking the tiger by the tail...and she is. The princess of wands is about doing our shadow work, facing our fears, seeing our part in the drama that has unfolded and taking responsibility and action to disperse the darkness. The queen of wands is standing next to the fire, in a powerful stance, with badass boots, holding a torch above her head to light the way for others; at her feet is a leopard, the dark stripes have been dispersed into spots. It feels like these actresses, who first dared to light the way, to open the dark wound that has plagued the film business for so long, these women are representatives of the returned divine feminine. And she has had ENOUGH is not taking any more. And as I observed in an interview on the Weinstein unfolding, with Ashley Judd, she is doing it with LOVE. Ashley said to Harvey, “I love you, Harvey, you need help”. What a way to change the world, with a more feminine, inclusive, community healing intention. Here is where real change can occur, is occurring.

...In what distant deeps or skies.Burnt the fire of thine eyes?On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand, dare seize the fire?...

~William Blake, The Tyger
