Seeking Truth, Freedom and Balance in Libra, by Anna Chapman

“Where the truth may lead is revealed by our life, not in advance of it. The truth is that life is filled with risk, and to live Truth is to live constantly at risk.”

Seeking Truth, Freedom and Balance in Libra, by Anna Chapman | Paradise Found Santa Barbara

Libra is an air sign that symbolizes balance, often represented by the Scales of Justice. This balancing bird embodies the resourceful dynamic nature of Libra.[/caption]The astrology for October is demanding. There is barely a day in which one may feel at rest. And yet sleep may be all one wants to do! A full moon brackets either end of these highly energetic 31 days that at times may seem dangerously combustive. Internal energies churn. Authentic expression is the manifestation of being pushed by a Mars retrograde in its own sign, Aries, and square to Jupiter (urging expansion), Pluto (urging elimination) and Saturn (urging determination). Putting it very briefly...we are weary of untruths that create confusion and hunger for the simplicity of sincerity.

Squares are very often described as a bad aspect to have;but nothing creates as much energy as a square. It’s a conflict; it’s two forces struggling with each other.

But conflict can also produce wonderful energies when mastered.A square will challenge you, get you out of your comfort zoneand make you work hard to overcome the difficulties on your path.

Whatever we may have resisted, denied or repressed will demand a voice. Brought into time and space, we allow whatever the issue is a reality that will after awhile prove itself to be unreal, based on the past and therefore without basis.  As phenomena it/they become part of the shifting mists that eventually lift to reveal the dawn. Freedom at last! Freedom from the limitations that our fears (that create resistance) have produced. When squares appear an opposing force will challenge us to move on!

Stagnant confrontation, or dynamic balance?

During this New Moon at 23 degrees 53 minutes Libra 12:31 p.m. October 16th PDT with opposing and confrontational aspects we will rely heavily on Libran rationale to guide us. Two features of this New Moon—it is the closest and the largest New Moon of the year and at the same time Mars is at its closest to the earth in its two year journey. Push and pull. Drawn to the calm of Libra but pushed to find balance by the aggressive nature of Mars in Aries.

With the Mars influence greater due to its proximity to Earth, its retrograde motion and its position in Aries its own sign the impetus for movement is intensified. Restlessness and unrest characterize the individual experience and the collective experience. We’ve had plenty of time to consider, contemplate and feel into those energies that now are magnified. The many voices wanting to be heard and not apt to settle for less than recognition.

Earlier in the year they encouraged us to establish what it is we want to create regardless of the goings on all about us. Now is the time, as the year very rapidly draws to a close to shake our selves ‘til all the old fruit, withered and of no ‘value’ (except to return to the earth whence it came as all phenomena will do), falls to the ground. Then we are free to receive according to the unknown, unseen and undefined. Peace has the possibility to prevail as we realize there is nothing to do but receive. The giving then, occurs quite automatically.

The ideal of Libra is equanimity, peace and balance. The Sun/Moon are positioned at one end of a potent t-square and Mars at the other end. Both ends square to Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn. How does this energy manifest in our lives? All that which does not feel balanced, peaceful and equanimous; that does not fulfill the collective vision of wisdom and maturity will demand transformation. It is part of an ongoing process that is quickening.

Each individual will be aware of their own ego-centricities that contribute to the illusion from which suffering arises and will graciously begin to overcome fear of change; that a higher awareness be established. We deal with our fears in a kind and compassionate manner—one step at a time. No matter what the external energies may be, our expectations are that, what is, is—this one, without expectation flows with the great all-pervasive Being. Opportunities present themselves to us and when we are thoroughly ready we will comply to the best of our ability—now.

A chameleon with pictures appearing on its back

The degree of this New Moon is described in the Chandra symbols (Elias Lonsdale-Inside the degrees) as:

A chameleon with moving pictures appearing on its back. Blown by the wind. Shifted by every current. Absolutely adaptable. You can become anything on demand...an immense gift and a special curse. The gift is to open up every situation simply by being there and participating. The curse is to have your own self discarnate and oblivious.

When we are discarnate and oblivious we are not present and therefore we are unavailable. When we are not present one struggles to know the undefined, non-divisive Reality that is ever present. To see Truth that stands before us and beside us, above, below, inside and outside of us—is us, we must be in this moment. Most of the time we are sequestered in the rather limited cocoon of ‘me’.

When we place the ‘me’ under a microscope, an indication that I have wearied of these ups and downs, the suffering and the endless questions to which one seldom finds just the right answer, one can be sure of absolutely nothing. Where once we were content in the familiar, we now long to rid our selves of what is known. We are prepared to risk our comfortable lives in order to discover that which is beyond the known. Our beliefs no longer hold such power. We are gratefully in the grip of death of the ego self. The sturdy, well-set belief structures to which we cling dissolve and the increased light speeds my way. I need not concern my self with how, why, when or where--it is—this I know.

At this time when we feel the energies of change to be most acute we can access peace, stillness, the ever present Reality by stopping. By resting in the breath and listening beyond the ‘noise’. It is available to each and every one of us when we allow wisdom to be our guide rather than monkey mind. Let all of the excuses and doubt arise and then focus again. Stillness is there and here and everywhere—a gift and Reality.

“Go deeply into the urge to be silent and not the mental interference of how, where and when. If you follow silence to its source you can be taken by it in a moment.”

~Jean Klein, Who Am I? The Sacred Quest
