Lyrid Meteor Shower | A reminder to keep your eyes open for shooting stars! We will soon be passing through the Lyrid Meteor Showers. The best nights to watch are from late evening until dawn the following morning, on April 21 and 22. Thanks to the darkness of the New Moon, we will be able to see them extra clearly.

Entering Eclipse Season | The next solar eclipse and the first of 2023 will be a hybrid solar eclipse on April 20. During the event, a "ring of fire" will be visible for a few seconds in the skies above the Indian and Pacific oceans. As the Wheel Turns | Celebrate Beltane

May 1 marks Beltane, the Celtic festival between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Beltane is a springtime festival of optimism and fertility, as the power of daylight waxes stronger, and the cold winter nights recede into memory.

In ancient Gaelic society, Beltane marked the beginning of summer, and the time when livestock were taken to the summer pastures. Great bonfires were lit for purification and protection. There were also rituals to protect crops, dairy products and people, and to encourage growth. The aos sí, often referred to as spirits or fairies, were thought to be especially active at this time, and the goal of many Beltane rituals was to appease them.
